Dating in Sweden…Need Your Help

29 Oct
2007

I was checking out my blog stats today and noticed the original Dating in Sweden post was the most popular. Now I am guessing that post does not enlighten those of us who are currently confused because I am confused too.

I propose that if there are any Swedes (male or female) willing to take a survey about dating/love/sex, I will post the results in one month. Of course if you volunteer, I will not disclose your name or email. Help us, lovely Swedish folks, to better understand your culture.

Email me at fleurdeparis at gmail dot com. (okay that other email I put up earlier…doesn’t exist…yes, I am stupid at times)

Hey, I’m dating a Swede and hopefully, one day I’ll marry him. When we first started dating (almot four years ago), the biggest issue was getting him to talk about himself and his family — Swedes tend to avoid talking too much about themselves. More recently, the cultural conflict seems tied to how we both view money. He tends to scour the internet for reviews and wait months, even years before buying something so as to ensure good value for his money. I search and compare as well, but it typically takes me much less time to decide on buying something, and I typically decide to buy more things than he could ever allow himself… :-P

i’d go with jumping on him. lol. in all seriousness though, he is probably waiting for you to do something. if he knows you are leaving soon, he may be even more unsure if you would *want* him to make the move.

just up the heat. if you two already have some chemistry, it will flourish. and with your imminent departure, i believe it is better to take a chance and at least know you tried… than if you did nothing at all.

they are not easy to get at all, i’ve been flirting in Sweden with a shy swede boy for almost 4 months, now he speaks a little bit more, approaches more…even sends e-mails almost every day even when we are in the same corridor….but just that. I will return to my country in 1 month and he doesn’t hurry up.

what should i do?? jump on him?
